Shivani’s abstracts bring out a multitude of textures found in nature as her perpendiculars provide multifarious ambiances of the hours that tick through the day. Her works carry a strong and sacred natural element that is visible through her individual vocabulary with robust strokes of tints, tones and shades along with effortless mark-making which she has mastered via the technique of printmaking. Shivani has explored this theme in a myriad of ways to arrive at her images with smart colour combinations. She adorns her paintings with physical light, movement and depth which animates each piece by interlocking and layering her marks, allowing the viewer to transcend their expressions. They lead the mind to wander into the realm of nature with a sense of obscure ambiguity which allows the beholder to form their own memories when looking at her hueful reiterations.
The artist lives and works in New York, United States.
