Jenny Bhatt is a pop surrealist artist based in Mumbai. She formerly completed her training in art and design from Sophia Polytechnic in 1992.
Jenny Bhatt’s work primarily focuses on the Pursuit of Happiness using humour to comment on social and cultural practices. Her oeuvre is a blend of pop surreal psychedelia and eastern philosophy infused with happiness. She works within a concept she created, called MokshaShots. In eastern philosophy, ‘Moksh’ means salvation. “Mokshashot” is a character which can be made from anything that is fulfilling; art, chocolate or a Dopamine shot!
Bhatt often dives into the deep recesses; the intuitive, playful mind that grapples with everything from meditative states, memory and nostalgia, to the influence of pop culture and media. She incorporates the use of colour therapy in her work to explore the healing potential of hues. Her works are vibrant frames with bursts of saturated hues in their purest, unadulterated form.
The artist lives and works in Mumbai, India.
