Mumbai – born artist Arzan Khambatta, originally an architect, transitioned into sculpting from a young age. Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Rachna Sansad Academy of Architecture, Mumbai, he has dedicated three decades to artistry, repurposing scrap from junkyards to create new found art.
The results of filing, bending, moulding, cutting, welding and burning synergise to create a dramatic impact in his work. He is a master of juxtaposition; to heighten the nuances and moods in his works.
Khambatta critiques the notion of barriers, suggesting they are unnatural and detrimental to a humanistic world. He uses diverse techniques, ranging from wood carving to 3D printing. His works are deeply layered with finesse and individual personalities making his work unique.
The artist lives and works in Mumbai, India.
