CONCEPT NOTE
TRIPTYCH presents a selection of photographs from my travels. They reflect my take on places, people, situations and things. Seen through the viewfinder of humour, the images are a tribute to all the wonderful moments, the things that made me laugh. The feel is minimalist and modern. The series is not ‘quirky’ in an obvious sense but displays undercurrents of humour and eccentricity. The pop of tangerines in a local farmers’ market in Sydney. A feisty lady riding a scooter in Hanoi, a fridge-turned-mailbox in remote Kangaroo Island. The comic expressions of tourists crammed into a cable car in San Francisco. Shot in diverse destinations, the freewheeling work is bound together by a mood of playfulness and whimsy.

CONCEPT NOTE
As I carry with me five continents and memories that even time couldn’t dull, my bags open up about what I hold dear from my travels. A map of things big and small that defines the very borders of my experiences. My suitcase, my fellow traveller — bruised by the rough edges of a foreign country or soothed by tropical rain — is laid bare for exhibition. Unburdened.
Stories I’ve rarely told — of fear and longing, of great joy and serendipity. Of discovering that the Unknown is also a beautiful place. As luck would have it, Arzan & Sona join in to create this delightful confluence called TRIPTYCH.

CONCEPT NOTE
I have always been fond of photography since a long long time, but discovered its potential as an art form only in the past three years. To me, it’s not about capturing a beautiful scenery but observing the mundane, and deriving a perfect aesthetic from within it.
During my numerous travels, I have come across some of the finest architecture, be it old or modern, its details, the people around, their expressions, the streets, the nature, its various terrains, and the way all these elements react to light and shadow.
There is a treasure trove of compositions around us everywhere.
All we have to do is notice,
observe,
ideate,
compose,
point and click…………here’s where the magic happens.
