The Butterfly People
– by Ajay De

From the time it breaks out of the chrysalis and transforms into a beautiful winged creature, the butterfly stuns the world with its beauty and soothes the world with its spirit. A short life later the butterfly is gone but its mirth lives on forever.

Ajay De’s The Butterfly People is a celebration of this very spirit that has inspired humanity since the first poet. The butterfly has inspired Ajay to transform and emerge with an expression that is stark and stunning yet pristine and full of peace and serenity and explore the butterfly in every human being.

“In my ‘Butterfly People ‘ I attempt to explore such transformations of the human soul. In life, we come close to being the butterfly. Yet, only those chosen few are able to embrace the life of a butterfly, and dare towards liberation! The butterfly inspires me to live with my dream of liberty! It inspires me to transform the world, from the cocoon of dead habit to the freedom of unbridled expression so that even after I am gone the mirth lives on forever.”

“A simple flap of a butterfly’s wing raises a storm in my soul. It transforms my life and morphs the silently beautiful reality with the surreal that is surging for a release. And then, the storm subsides and in the tranquility that follows, I find inspiration in the life cycle of a butterfly. I find inspiration in how a tiny bead of an egg hatches into a leaf-munching caterpillar that eventually transforms into a beautiful butterfly. And then I see beauty within all unattractive forms. I see beauty within everybody
and everything. The butterfly convinces me that someday, this beauty will unveil itself.”

“I know today, that ‘We are all Beautiful”.
